Fiber Optic Installation and Splicing in Virginia

Fiber backbone, outside plant and campus fiber installed, fusion spliced, terminated and tested by CCS Communications. Low-loss connections for new builds, repairs and network expansions across Virginia.

Fiber Done Right the First Time

Fiber optic cabling carries the traffic that everything else depends on: the backbone between telecom rooms, the link between buildings on a campus, the feed to a data center or the run to a remote camera pole. A poor splice or a dirty connector can take down a whole segment, so fiber work rewards precision.

CCS Communications installs, splices, terminates and tests fiber for commercial, industrial, government and residential new construction projects. Clients call us their go-to fiber installation and cable plant team because we do it right the first time and hit demanding project schedules.

Fiber Installation

We install single-mode and multimode fiber inside buildings, between buildings and in outside plant routes, including conduit, aerial and direct-buried applications. Indoor and outdoor rated cable, armored cable and pre-terminated assemblies are selected to match the environment.

Fusion Splicing and Termination

Our technicians fusion splice backbone and distribution fiber, build and dress splice enclosures and terminate fiber in patch panels and wall-mount enclosures. Precision splicing is critical to maintaining signal strength, and we treat every strand that way.

Testing and Certification

Every strand is tested for insertion loss and documented. OTDR traces are available for backbone and outside plant links so you can see exactly where every splice and connector sits and how it performs.

Repairs and Expansions

Cut cable, failed splices and damaged connectors can be located, repaired and re-certified. We also extend existing plant to new buildings, floors and equipment without disturbing live services.

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the questions we hear most. For anything else, schedule a free consultation.

Single-mode or multimode fiber: which do I need?

Multimode fiber is common for short backbone runs inside a building and is cost effective for distances under a few hundred meters. Single-mode fiber supports much longer distances and higher bandwidth and is the standard for campus, outside plant and data center links. We will recommend the right type for your distances and equipment.

What is fusion splicing?

Fusion splicing joins two fibers by melting the glass ends together with an electric arc, producing a permanent, very low-loss connection. It is the preferred method for backbone and outside plant fiber and for repairs.

Can you repair a cut fiber line?

Yes. We locate the fault with an OTDR, repair or replace the damaged section, re-splice and re-test the link so it is back to specification.

Do you test the fiber after installation?

Every strand is tested for insertion loss and documented. OTDR traces are provided for backbone and outside plant links.

Do you install fiber for homes and residential developments?

Yes. We install fiber for new construction residential projects, including structured wiring to a central closet and fiber feeds to outbuildings and gates.
